I have had knee issues for 30 years since the age of 15. That being said, in the past 30 years I have seen several orthopedic doctors. 7 years ago I moved to back to New Hampshire, and 2 years ago started having knee problems again which meant I needed to find an orthopedic doctor in the area. Nervous and scared I was very reluctant not knowing doctors in New Hampshire. Luckily, I was referred to Dr. Doug Goumas. Dr. Goumas is hands down the BEST orthopedic doctor I have had in the past 30 years. He is easy to talk to, totally understanding and compassionate to any issues you have. In my opinion he should hold classes educating new and current doctors on bed side manor/how to communicate with patients. He is amazing!! I can’t say enough. He is thorough in his treatment, and exhausts all efforts before putting a patient thru an extensive surgery such as a knee replacement. I hope this review of Dr. Goumas is passed on in some way to any new patients that are looking for a GREAT orthopedic doctor. More importantly I also hope Dr. Goumas is some how recognized for his outstanding patient care. While yes I realize part of his job is to take care of his patients, however some physicians are not as caring or compassionate and when you leave the visit are feeling shrugged off as just a complaining individual. Rest assured when you are a patient of Dr.Goumas, you are in good hands. Amazing, FANTASTIC doctor. Thank you, Dr.Goumas and NHOC.
