What is an MRI?
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) allows physicians to map out bone and soft tissues and plan treatment and therapy for injuries and illnesses. MRI employs magnetic fields and radio frequencies to create a visually detailed projection of soft tissues such as tendons, ligaments, discs and nerves. It is a painless, non invasive procedure that does not require surgery or radiation from traditional x-rays.
MRIs produce precise images that allow physicians to distinguish between pathologic structures and normal healthy tissue without radiation exposure.
