Douglas M. Goumas, MD

Douglas M. Goumas, MD is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.  He specializes in sports medicine and joint replacement.  Dr. Goumas graduated from Yale University with honors and attended and graduated from the University of Connecticut Medical School, Farmington, Connecticut.  He interned and did his residency at the University of Connecticut Health Center, Farmington, Connecticut.  Dr. Goumas did his sports medicine fellowship at New England Baptist Hospital as one of the fellows working with the Boston Celtics.  Dr. Goumas performs minimally invasive surgery of the shoulder and knee, and specializes in all arthroscopic rotator cuff repairs and ACL reconstructive surgery.  Dr. Goumas is a member of the Arthroscopy Association of North America.  He was recently appointed by the governor to the Advisory Council on Workers’ Compensation.
